The recent Paris Declaration on Forensic Scientometrics has highlighted the growing concern for integrity in scientific research and the need for mechanisms to detect and address irregularities in scholarly communication. Within this framework, this note proposes the development of reputational and ethical monitoring services from research support services, with a formative rather than punitive approach. The early identification of deviations in good scientific practices and the generation of reports in cases of reputational crisis are essential strategies to ensure trust in the academic and scientific system. Beyond the detection of isolated cases, the importance of establishing institutional systems that structurally address problems of scientific integrity, starting with the training of those who do science, is stressed.Downloads
