Abstract

A selection of quantitative data sources on the health impact of the Covid-19 pandemic are reviewed and discussed. Open data sources on the situation of Covid-19 in terms of its health impact (cases, deaths, etc.) are presented and explained, both globally and in Spain, and more briefly sources corresponding to the scope of countries are pointed out from Western Europe closest to Spain, and from the most populated countries in Latin America. These are mostly sources from official bodies. We also present data modeling and forecast about Covid-19 by groups of researchers from Spanish universities. As conclusions, the deficit of detailed information at the local level (by municipalities and provinces) in a large part of the Spanish territory, and the limitations of the quantitative data in Spain and other countries (in particular, with respect to the figures of deaths provided by official sources). Likewise, the potential represented by present huge number of data sources for this pandemic´s present and future studies is recognized.
