The Aneca effect in the Social science citation index: Spain´s productivity in communication research

Abstract

Effects of the evaluation criteria used by assessment agencies on Spanish productivity in communication research. On the one hand, the number of academic journals has increased and their quality has improved; on the other hand the production of Spanish authors in journals indexed in the Social Science Citation Index has spectacularly increased in the last years.
