Google AI Overviews, the generative artificial intelligence tool integrated into the world’s most widely used general search engine, has arrived in Spain, bringing with it a new way of understanding and consuming search results. In light of this development, this note aims, on the one hand, to provide a general overview of how AI Overviews currently works, and on the other hand, to reflect on the challenges and opportunities it presents for scholars in the fields of Information and Communication.Downloads
