Sustainability and public service media: A commitment to the future through the strategy of public value

Abstract

Against the backdrop of economic, social and environmental hardship, sustainability is a global imperative for shaping a better future that affects all areas of society. In the case of European public service media, these organisations have begun to incorporate sustainability into their public value strategies, although this practise is still emerging in Spain. In this context, this paper examines the main European initiatives while calling for research and action on the Spanish case.
